Kane Is Able Recognized as an Energy-Smart Business

August 19, 2011 – Kane Is Able was recently added to PPL’s E-power® Energy Smart Business Honor Roll after adding occupancy sensors to T8 lights in one of its Scranton campus distribution centers.

“Our DC’s T8 lights are already energy efficient,” said Pete Westermann, Kane Is Able’s COO. “Adding the sensors allows each light to be turned on only when necessary, increasing the lifespan of the lights and decreasing the amount of energy used. It’s a win-win.”

KANE’s CEO, Dick Kane, is proud to operate a company that fosters a culture of open communication about operational improvement, including energy conservation.

"We’re committed to being a green company and continuously encourage our Associates to research ways to improve our energy efficiency," said Dick Kane, CEO. "I’m grateful to our engineering and purchasing teams who suggested installing these occupancy sensors to help reduce our electricity consumption. ”
